About Me

I’m Kushal Pandya. I live in Toronto, Canada and have been developing for the web (and writing JavaScript) for over 13 years. I work at GitLab as a Senior Frontend Engineer, where I’m also a maintainer of GitLab’s source code. Prior to GitLab, I worked at Saba (now part of Cornerstone) for close to 4 years building enterprise web apps. Here’s my CV in case you want to know more about my professional background.

Besides working at GitLab, I’ve also built Petrichor, Crescendo, Sluice, and several others. You can look them up on the Projects page of this site. When I’m not writing code, I enjoy playing games on PlayStation, Switch, and even a retro handheld at times. I try to limit my screen time as much as I can by hiking and kayaking during summer. I also take a lot of pictures of places I visit and sometimes post them on Flickr.

About this site

I’ve been running Doublslash since 2013 and initially hosted it on Tumblr. For over 10 years, the site has been built on Jekyll. I built the current design from scratch, so while it looks dated, I still love it because it was entirely “hand-coded” by me, and I’d like to keep it that way. It is currently hosted on Cloudflare Pages, while the build-and-deploy process still happens through GitHub Actions.

My workspace has an M4 Max MacBook Pro with 2 LG UltraFine 27” 4K monitors, an Insta360 Link 2C camera, a Logi MX Mechanical keyboard and MX Master 3S mouse, Creative Pebble Pro speakers, and an Apple Magic Trackpad. I also have a mini PC (Minisforum NAB6 Lite) running Manjaro as a homelab server, with a whole bunch of containers for NextCloud, Plex, Vaultwarden, and other things I depend on.

Education

I did my post-graduation in Information Technology from DA-IICT, where I was part of the 2011 batch, and my graduation, again in Information Technology, from Saurashtra University, where I was part of the 2008 batch.

Contact Me

I’ve been inactive on most social media sites but I do check LinkedIn from time to time, so that would be the best place to reach me.
